The Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc., as well as the entire volunteer emergency medical system in Virginia’s largest city. It is our vision to advocate for an independent and vital volunteer Virginia Beach rescue system, which provides free pre-hospital emergency care to the citizens and visitors of Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach Rescue Squad System is made up of over 900 volunteers that together serve the community under the coordination of the City of Virginia Beach EMS Department. Each squad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and supports its operational needs through individual fundraising efforts. Because of these volunteer efforts, pre-hospital emergency medical care in the City of Virginia Beach is free to all and contributes to over $22 million in cost savings to the City.
